A three night stay at the GC Trailer Village – full hook up – allowed us to see the entire South Rim of the canyon utilizing the excellent free bus system. The actual camp sites are spacious enough ( we’re a 41 foot 5thwheel with a second chase vehicle ) but we did require all three of our leveling boards and we could have used one more. They have wild pigs in the campground and the rumor was that one tusk er attacked a dog. There are deer aplenty in the campground and park and we were able to get some nice pictures of mountain sheep. We didn’t do any hiking but carry clothing that will cover any weather situation. It was raining the day we arrived and the night time temps were in the low 30’s in October. There is a market in the Trading Post area that will allow you to purchase basic food supplies and souvenirs. There are also several restaurants and gift shops. Golden Age / Senior Pass is accepted only at the gate – everything else is a no discount deal. Our Verizon Air card worked well as did our phone ( two bars ) and the rumor is that there is Wi-Fi near the Trading Post but we didn't confirm. We enjoyed the visit and would return.

We were surprised to see that this park is affiliated with KOA. This apparently does not make the park ( CRA ) member too happy. As Coast to Coast members we can stay for 10.00 per night for a max of 2 weeks. A week is enough. They do have a newer section across the road that people praise but C2C members won't get assigned there. Not sure why? Pool is small but adequate. People were friendly, Wi-Fi only available in the clubhouse. They have a grass area at the entrance that could be used as a dog walk but isn't. Instead you can walk the pets in a scrub area out a barbed wire fence behind the park. It's w/i 10 miles of London Bridge and shops but that's a 1/2 day viewing. Lots of snowbirds with golf and boating aplenty. Also lots of very warm days in Oct.

As a military campground this is one of the best. Gravel sites with cement patio. Ours was a pull through and we're a 41 foot 5th wheel, and we had plenty of parking. If they have a swimming pool it is away from the campground and on the base mainside. They could use some "events" within the camp such as pizza night or pot lucks. Guess they figure those staying here will hit the shows or casinos. (We hit the casino buffets - great ). They offer reasonable laundry charges (.75) and they have a nice fenced dog run with grass and clean up bags and tools. The Sunrise Vista golf course ( 27 holes )has wide fairways and is reasonably priced ( cheap for Vegas ). Good wi-fi connection in our rig. Very nice/helpful office staff. Make your reservations early if you plan on being here during the winter season. We'd stay here again.

Rate we paid was for Passport America - good for two nights only. Sites just barely accommodated our 40'rig - VERY narrow as this an older park. Sites are gravel with small cement "patio". Park is on Colorado River, has Wi-Fi at office and club house. Club house was not open but it's on the river which is wide/deep enough for lots of boating. Parker, AZ is the only real city close to Big River, CA and it's about 7 miles away across the river. We did an excursion over to Joshua Tree Nat. Park ( 130 miles away ) and was a generally dull outing except to say we saw 29 Palms, CA. Their signs suggest they have a problem with rattlesnakes & scorpions. The managers were exceptionally friendly & the campground was clean but there isn't enough going on in this facility to bring us back.

Initial impression of this park is that it's just good for a one night stay, but the owner and hosts work hard to ensure your stay is pleasant. Our first night was in overflow ( we came in early ) and there are lots of cockleburrs to annoy the dogs. We we moved up to a pull through site and the burrs mostly disappeared. Strong recommendation: make sure you have a reservation, or plan on being turned away. All these area parks are very popular at this time of year. This park doesn't appear to be as noisy as other parks as they're off the highway and well hidden. It's near the Moab Golf Course ( $29.00 to walk and play, $42.00 to ride ). They do need speed bumps to slow down some of the people that don't understand the posted 5MPH. They serve free coffee in the AM and ours was a Passport America price. It's about 4 miles from downtown Moab: very convenient. We would stay here again if passing through the area as we had a nice pull-through for our 41-footer with real grass ( free of burrs ) and patio table.

Comments by the previous evaluator are valid, but we rate this CG a bit higher. We found this place after spending 10 disappointing minutes in another Odessa CG and we are happy they had no room for our 41 footer. They have a nice WiFI, good gift shop with an amazing selection of Oceola Cheeses ( you can sample them ) and a very helpful staff. We ate at the Countryside Family Rest ( 1/4 miles east of the CG on the feeder road ) and purchased one of their homemade strawberry rhubarb pies ). Nice meal and impressive and hefty pie. Road noise was not a factor although we are close to I-70. It's an easy in and out ( Exit 37 )on I-70. Our roof top satellite dish locked on within minutes from our site. We'd stay here again.

OK, admittedly the park was officially open on 1 May and we pulled in on 2 May but our stay in this park lasted 10 minutes compared to about an hours worth of driving once we left the interstate. Reason, their directions are not correct (even as confirmed over the phone) and their address we learned doesn't show up on either of our 2 GPS units because it's a street address they made up. Getting to the park was over some really bad, pot hole filled roads out in the middle of nowhere. Sure they say they had recently had heavy rains but their roads in the park were dangerously rutted. The pull through site we were offered was just barely large enough for us and it would have been difficult to level our rig. The park gives the impression of being a permanent resident trailer park with mostly old and unsightly rigs. The park is selling lots/sites and the owners are supposed to maintain their lots but it appears they don't. The grass in those areas with grass was at least a foot high. The amenities they offer appear to be non functioning or non existent and a trip into town would be a long difficult drive. They offer no Wi-Fi and if they offered to pay our fee, we would not consider staying there. The signage to the park is only apparent when you get to the final turn off. Sorry to be so negative but this is one of the worst, most rundown parks we have ever visited - note we didn't stay for the night and just kissed off the non-refundable Coast to Coast fee.

Stayed here for a week on a Camping World special deal (Lucky Seven). The staff here was exceptional, helpful, friendly and a real park asset. The park is about 1/4 park models and 3/4 snowbirds. The large club house is always busy (good library inside) and the two pools are always available. The larger pool w/ associated hot tub has a great view of the lake. Wal-Mart is 3 minutes from the park along with various dining opportunities. There are lots of planned events. Again, they should offer a free Wi-Fi site or sites throughout the park as part of the park fee. I-75 is close and some sites get a real earful but park can't fix this. It's well maintained park and sites were roomy. We'd return.

Read the January 09 review as it is right on the mark. We add that we were here on a special Encore promo to meet with family and were given a 30 amp only site. The power box was really low to the ground and the sewer connection ( we needed 40 feet of hose ) was the strangest we have ever encountered. The sewer and power says that this is an old park with mostly park models. The trash was a lengthy walk from our site and not centrally located and they don't offer a morning trash pick up. We we under the trees and therefore our satellite dish on top wouldn't pick up. The sites are typical Encore - very narrow & tight. The exit route out of the park is very narrow and a driving challenge. The special rate because of our memberships made this an OK park but their normal rate would keep us out of this park. They should upgrade their wi-fi and just make it free as part of the fee. The park is 20-30 minutes from the beaches but for these and the other kids activities (except pool/volley ball/ping pong) one has to get in your vehicle and leave the park. You're a distance from shopping/dining. The back part of the park is on the Myakka River but while I watched nobody caught anything except branches and debris. We would stay here if we needed to visit family again, especially for the price. Every park resident and the staff was outgoing and friendly and that's a big plus.

We camped here on a special weekly rate obtained through Camping World. We mentioned this rate to some of the regular campers and they became quite upset as they were paying 900/month plus their electricity. Their site wasn't much better than our site. The park has a 3.00 per day park fee. Not sure what this is for except to generate revenue. The park wants all spaces filled and will do anything to reach that goal. General observation of the park is that it's all about money for the park - not service to the campers. Their sites are really crowded and not well maintained. We had no problem with people cutting through our space as our rig and tow vehicle covered all of the space provided. The park is half park models with a few permanent trashy trailers They have one set of dumpsters and it's a bit of a hike to reach them. Ditto for the dog walk area - a 10 minute walk from our site and we were in the middle of the park. Maneuvering to our site was like skiing a down hill ski run - verrrrrrry narrow roads and this coupled with camper vehicles parked everywhere made for a very slow go to our site. They have a nice pool area, horse shoe pits, lots of shuffleboard courts, 2 tennis, 14 washers & 14 driers ( 1.25 for a wash, 1.00 for a dry ) and a large rec area. They have planned activities but you best be there well in advance to get your name on a sign up sheet otherwise the event will fill up. The office staff was friendly and helpful but the general concensus by the campers is that the manager isn't much of a hands on, get out and see what's happening so the park will continue to be just a tired old park that is now run by Encore. The night we arrived it looked like their public restrooms/showers had never been cleaned. We did not stay the full week and we would probably never return.

Nice park under pine trees which translated to our satellite/internet dish not working. Our daily price would have been much higher except we came in with a large group and stayed a week. By staying in the CG you avoid the car driving and the boat/bus rides are great but there is always a wait for them. Sites are narrow but not too close together provided you can safely back in. Our loop (1700) is narrow and will test your backing skills. As previous stated their internet prices are too high - bring an "air card" and save the internet fee. Meals throughout the park also high (carry food/drinks into the park - especially if you have a family). Ignore this if you don't mind high prices. They charge 5.00 daily for pets and do provide scented waste bags but that's still too high - especially since we and everyone else picked up after their pets. The water was drinkable but the water pressure was pretty low. Their cable TV was mostly things to see/do at Disney and a couple of news channels. We really missed having our satellite dish. Other than that, it's a unique park and everyone should visit it at least once - with your little kids or grandkids. That's who it is really designed to please. We visit every 25 years so guess we'll be back in 2033 but probably not before as there are too many other good parks out there that need to be "checked out:.

This is a Passport America park and as such offers great value. This is our second time here and the owners couldn't be nicer. For us it is a good, safe and not much of an out of the way stop while we're heading south. The park offers a nice place to really exercise our dogs and St George offers a couple of acceptable restaurants. While not a destination park for us we will continue to use this place as an "en-route" to our destination stopping off place. We recommend it to others.

Take Hwy 60 Southwest from Conway and you'll find Toad Suck, the town, and the COE park. It's right on the bank of the Arkansas River just beyond the bridge. Nice quite park and like most COE parks, one of the best deals available - $10 with the Golden Age/Sr. Citizen card. Has dump station and small country store with lots of things close by. Lots of open space to run the dog or just walk about. Our satellite dish worked fine and the sites were easy to level our 41 foot rig. There is a play ground for kids. We'd come back.

A nice park with excellent camp workers. The work staff are friendly and helpful and worth whatever they are being paid. Camp serves a nice breakfast from 8 -10 ( Waffles, pastries, cereal, juice, coffee, bagels/english muffins ), very nice. Pool & hot tub clean and sites are easy to get in and out of. Has a nice dog walk but watch our for the goatheads/cockle burs in your dogs feet - most annoying. Only downer was that while we were there we heard of some tire valves being cut and a trailer hitch that was actually stolen. Not good and maybe for a park this size a night roving security might be helpful. I-40 road noise is bearable. If you visit, the RT 66 casino offers a nice buffet M-W (10.00 for two with a players card ). We'd stay here again.

A perfectly adequate older campground run as a mom & pop facility. Open spaces, grass sites with a nice area for dogs to run. If coming from the west, get off at exit 157 and drive the frontage road. It'll take you right beside the CG entrance. Nice camp store and highway noise was minimal. Sites are in the open for satellite reception. We'd stop here again.

Hard to see how the 2007 reviewer found the sites short and unlevel. We had no problem with setting up and leveling our 41 foot 5th wheel. They do require cash or check payment both at the restaurant and campground but offer an ATM inside the restaurant. We have stayed here 3 different times and have enjoyed the quite and the food at the restaurant. They have no showers (toilets yes) but all sites are 30 or 50 amp with water and sewers. Toilets are for the use of the people who fish their lakes for catfish. Wi-Fi is available but with a charge. Verizon aircard works in this area. They have Tennessee Walking Horses near the grounds. Yes, we will stay here again.

Not a bad park if you want to visit Garden of the Gods, USAFA, Pike's Peak etc. and hit the many local restaurants. Yes the park has road noise and the water pressure is very low but acceptable. We were on the upper level and had no problem fitting into a back in site even with our 41 foot length. Being escorted to the site would have been helpful as their road signs are not very visible. As Coast to Coast members, the price was wonderful and we'd stay there again. We did find the pool, hot tub closed for the winter but we were comfortable during our week at the park.

This is a unique RV park that prefers to cater to adults although they do not forbid young people/kids. We initially thought this would be a boring park but there's plenty to do (drive to 2-3 golf courses with in 20 miles, good river fishing, sightseeing in the town and area. We were there to catch some great fall colors. Only downer, if it's a downer, is that they have a nice enclosed facility that could be used as a dining/meeting hall but I think they're only open for caravans. This park would be a fantastic caravan/rally park. For long termer's if you want to pay for June, July & August, they give you September for free. They close on 30 Sept. We paid 28.00/night for 6 nights and got the 7th free (172.00 including tax).

Nice CG, level sites around small ponds. No great restaurants/attractions close by. Rest rooms adequate and clean and had washers(2) and dryers (2) in the one we saw. Think they have two RR houses. We found some nice bike riding around Lake Okeechobee on the levee. We only used the park as a one night stop over but found it to be quite comfortable and well maintained. They do have "honey wagon" service but one one night stay included sewer hook up. They have two shuffle board courts, cable TV, a lighted walking track around the campground and a recreation room. We'd come back or use it as a stop over as the price was great.

First we arrived at the park after an all day rain and the entry road and serious lack of CG signs ( they said that "someone" stole them ) made it a trip through mud-ville. It is away from grocery stores,(civilization ) the sites were soggy and water logged and we only were offered 30 amp and water and a view of nothing. The owners/staff tried to be accommodating but there is no way our 40' 5thwheel could fit/enjoy the space they offered us. The campers that were there appeared to be long term "homesteaders". The only reason we considered it was because it was a Passport America park but it's not worth even the PA price. If you try and find the park with a GPS, forget it. The GPS recognizes Old Wire Road by a different name. We would not return and in fact only stayed long enough to turn around and leave. They have a long way to go before they meet even minimum cg standards.

This place is pretty much known only to the locals but it's a nice park that offers laundry,kayak/canoe rentals, picnic tables/fire pits, children's playground, volleyball area, fishing and birding. Close to the Indian River, the ocean, UDT/SEAL museum and a nice restaurant in Jenson Beach called Conchy Joe's Seafood. Only downer is their check in. We pulled in at 4:59 ( hit some traffic ) and we were lucky to get the male attendant to stay long enough to at least tell us our reservation site. For people who show up after he closes you might be caught between a rock and a hard place. When you do check in, you need to have $20.00 in cash to "buy/rent" the magnetic gate controller. That was never mentioned in our phone call(s) while making our reservations. Other campers had similar experiences with the check in process - no attempt to provide real service. Other than that, a great CG with nice sites, reasonable prices, good facilities and grounds keepers that take pride in their facility. We would be happy to return for an extended stay.

Nice quite park but badly in need of a WI-FI hotspot. The rangers strongly requested that in the comment sheet we indicate the need for the hotspot. Had to drive 8 miles into town as there is only one site that allowed a Hughes.net dish to get to the southern skies. They have cable but it's awful. We ended up using the Winegard crank up antenna. Bathrooms were spotless, staff was superb and they now have new ( but very narrow ) blacktop roads throughout the campgrounds so maneuver slowly as you search for your ( you choose ) campsite. All are under the trees. Nice restaurant ( Carey Hilliards ) for good reasonable food. Tybee Island was small and undergoing lots of road repairs when we drove through it. We would come back. Our price was with a senior discount.

Used Passport rate which can be used Sun-Thur. Nice quiet park, with good place to walk the dogs. They offer wireless internet, but for a charge. Park is good for overnight stop & close enough to Charleston for a day trip. We will stay there again.

We stayed her for 10 days in a 40' 5th wheel. Finding a level site that we fit in was difficult. Thankfully it was "off" season (they don't accept reservations - TOO BAD) and one was available. The hilltop sites were closed but were more open - they only offer water and electric and you have to make the trip down to the dump site which could be a pain. Pool was huge (but closed) but you are 1.6 miles from the Cumberland Mtn Bear Trace (Nicholas designed) golf course and it is spectacular. TN state retirees get a break at the CG and GC. Don't miss the park's restaurant. It's wonderful and reasonable and open every night. Be sure and bring a bike to ride around the park. We'd go back but probably "scope" out the sites to ensure we could fit into some space.

The Aug 06 reviewer must have been paid by the camp to write the review. The restaurant was basically non existent, they overcharged when it was open but that's Durango The food was marginal. It looked like quite a few sites were not level but the management says, what do you expect, it's the mountains. They discouraged fishing in the river and the if you reserved a river site well in advance, you might not get it. The office manager was not very friendly-in fact quite often just rude. It's a potentially wonderful park but it needs some managerial changes and some serious TLC - that's tender loving care. We'll not be back.
